What a plan can and cannot tell you.
The limits first, then what happens to your files.
The limits
- A plan is a drawing. The finished building can differ from it, and a builder may change a plan after it is printed.
- Sizes printed on the plan are copied. Sizes estimated from scale can be off by several inches. The home marks each one.
- A blurry or small image costs accuracy. Use one at least 1500 px wide.
- We have not measured an accuracy percentage, so we do not quote one.
- For a fit under 2″ of clearance, measure the real room.
- Selfstage is not a survey and does not check structure, permits or code.
Your files
You own the plans you upload and the homes you build. We use an uploaded plan to read it and show you the result, and a home is only visible to other people if you share its link.
Reading a plan is done by an AI model, so the file is sent to it for that step. Whatever it returns is checked against a fixed schema before it is used, and nothing it returns is run as code.
We state no retention period until it is set.
